*Magic UPDATE: Orlando, which improved its winning streak at home to five games with a rout over San Antonio on Thursday, has won 20 of 24 games since opening the season 0-2. . . . The game is a sellout, just the fourth this season. . . . Orlando is 10-3 at home after going 6-7 through 13 games last season. . . . SG Mickael Pietrus has returned to practice but has missed 10 games with a torn thumb ligament. He likely won't be available until Monday's home game against his old team, Golden State. . . . The Magic, the Sentinel and Sun Sports/FOX Sports are encouraging fans to bring a new, unwrapped toy tonight for the Power 95.3 STUFF the Bus Toy Drive at the pregame Fan Fest at Amway Arena. Toys will be distributed to children in need at the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida.
*Lakers UPDATE: L.A., which lost 89-87 to the Heat in Miami on Friday night, already has jumped to a healthy lead over the Phoenix Suns in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. . . . The Lakers remain a popular choice to return to the Finals, and they once again have C Andrew Bynum at full strength. . . . PF Pau Gasol has been ill (strep throat) and replaced in the lineup by F Lamar Odom, who began the season coming off the bench. . . . SG Kobe Bryant was fourth in the NBA in scoring (25 ppg) as of Friday. . . . Former Magic F Trevor Ariza has been key for the Lakers and can become a free agent after the season. . . . L.A. and Orlando split their season series last season at 1-1, each team winning on the other's home court.
*KEY MATCHUP: Obviously, SG Keith Bogans will need help at some point trying to contain Bryant, especially down the stretch. Bryant averaged 32 points in two games against Orlando last season. Might be a good night for Howard to return to his dominating ways.
