One shot has changed the whole series.
When Hedo Turkoglu hit the last-second three-point shot Sunday night, it not only bolstered his confidence, it won the game and evened the playoff series with Philadelphia, giving the home-court advantage back to the Magic. The best-of-seven series now has become a best-of-three with the Magic holding the edge once again.
After a rocky start, falling behind 2-1, the Magic once again like their chances.
"It's a new series," said Turkoglu after the 84-81 victory. "And we're going back home."
The Magic, the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference, had beaten the Sixers, No. 6, all three times during the regular season, but they were having a hard time controlling these games in the post season.
Turkoglu, who was in the worst slump of the season, has regained his edge, knowing he can resume his role as the late-game hero.
The Magic lost Game 1 in Orlando after blowing an 18-point lead, but they now believe they can finish this series in six after finally getting Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis untracked.
MAGIC 84, SIXERS 81: The Magic got a well-balanced attack -- capped by a last-second shot from Hedo Turkoglu -- to beat the 76ers and even their playoff series at two wins apiece. Dwight Howard had 18 points and 18 rebounds. Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis each had 17. Courtney Lee added 15 and Rafer Alston 14. The Sixers scared the Magic again when they hit eight of 19 shots from three-point range, bettering the Magic at their own long-distance-shooting game. This was the third time in this series that someone hit a shot within the last three seconds to win the game.
