--F Rashard Lewis watched Wednesday's opener from his home, serving Game 1 of his 10-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Lewis said he spent much of the first half riding a stationary bicycle. He is planning to leave with the team Thursday on a three-game road trip, watching the games from the hotel on television. NBA rules prohibit him from being in the arena during the games and for two hours before the game. --The Magic had a ceremony before the opening game to honor last season's run to the Eastern Conference championship. Although the video tribute had plenty of highlights, none of them included either Hedo Turkoglu or Rafer Alston, who played such a big role in the team's success. Alston was traded to New Jersey and Turkoglu left as a free agent. --Vince Carter said he was excited to go back to play in New Jersey Thursday after spending the last four-and-a-half seasons there.
