Orlando Magic Notes, Quotes 2009-11-02

Orlando Magic Notes, Quotes 2009-11-02--Assistant coach Brendan Malone was honored by the Raptors before the game with a video tribute. Malone was the first Raptors coach in 1995 when the team entered the league. The team was 21-61 in his only season as the head coach.

--Former Magic players Hedo Turkoglu, who left as a free agent this summer, told the Orlando Sentinel that he really wanted to re-sign with the Magic, but they offered him a four-year contract (the last year at the team's option) for only $34 million compared to the five-year, $55 million deal he received from Toronto.

--F Rashard Lewis, suspended by the NBA for the first 10 games of the season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy, thought it would be easy to watch road games on his hotel room television, but he discovered it wasn't that simple. In the Magic's first road game Friday in New Jersey, he couldn't find it on the television and had to hurry out to a sports bar to see the game.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "We are a deep team." -- Head coach Stan Van Gundy after the Magic won Sunday without two starters.
