--A whole year after it happened, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was still talking about Dwight Howard's last-second dunk that beat the Spurs. The Magic won that game, 106-104, when Howard caught the out-of-bounds, alley-oop pass from mid-court, thrown by Hedo Turkoglu, and slammed it home over Tim Duncan. The pass originally looked too high and too wide, but Howard snared it with his right hand and finished the play before landing, doing it almost while falling backward. "Do I remember it?" Popovich said. "That's the stupidest question I've heard. It might be the most athletic play I've ever seen."
--The Magic were hurt by the Spurs defense, which took away the three-point opportunities that they usually get. The Magic had made 10 or more three-pointers in 10 consecutive games, but the Spurs limited them to just seven on Tuesday night. --The Magic will get a chance Friday to set a franchise record if they can win their 24th road game of the season. Their previous best was 23, set by the 1995-96 team that won 60 games.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "That's the difference between a veteran championship team, and our team." -- Rashard Lewis, after the loss to the Spurs.
