--The Magic have made their formal bid to host the 2012 NBA All-Star Game, expecting to be in the midst of their second season in their new arena.
"I think we have a good shot at it," said Alex Martins, Magic chief operating officer. --Attendance at Magic games is down 1.9 percent this season, but it still left them at 97 percent capacity, which was reasonable in this down economy. The Magic reported a loss of more than $12 million last season, but they are hoping that the new arena, expected for the 2010-11 season, will turn them profitable once again.
--The Magic have won five consecutive games, something they have done just three times this season. Their longest winning streak this season is seven games, which they did twice.
