--Magic coach Stan Van Gundy was a little irked at the 43-minute halftime break Monday night when the Heat retired the jersey number (33) of Alonzo Mourning. It was considerably longer than expected. "It was a little long, especially when you are told it's going to be 24 minutes," Van Gundy said. "If you ask the league for a 40-minute halftime, they tell you no. So you petition for a 24-minute halftime, then just go as long as you want."
--Although the Orlando-Miami rivalry used to be balanced, it is clearly in the Magic's favor now. They have beaten the Heat 12 of the last 13 times they have played in the regular season, which certainly makes Van Gundy happy because the Heat released him as coach early in their championship season.
