--Much to the relief of the Magic, the NBA rescinded the technical foul against Dwight Howard from Game 4 on Tuesday. If the technical had stayed, Howard would have had six in the postseason, just one shy of receiving an automatic one-game suspension.
--Magic coach Stan Van Gundy celebrated his wedding anniversary Thursday, but he and his wife did it long distance -- she remained back in Orlando with their children. --The Magic certainly have been a well-tested team in the playoffs. Seven of their games have been decided by three or fewer points, and they are 3-4 in those games. If they start the NBA Finals in L.A., they will have no problem playing without the home-court advantage. They won clinching games in Philadelphia and in Boston in the first two rounds.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "That's what the great, great players do." -- Mickael Pietrus, who was trying to guard LeBron James in the fourth quarter Thursday night.
