ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Jameer Nelson, Shooting guard J.J. Redick, Small forward Mickael Pietrus, Power forward Ryan Anderson, Center Dwight Howard. Bench -- G Jason Williams, F Matt Barnes, F Brandon Bass, C Marcin Gortat. PLAYER NOTES: --F Mickael Pietrus left the team and flew home Saturday night because of flu-like symptom, but there is a chance he could rejoin the team in Detroit -- the third and final stop on this trip -- if he is feeling better. The league has advised teams to be cautious regarding players with the flu, which is why Pietrus went home from Toronto, where the Magic played Sunday afternoon.
--G Vince Carter sat out Sunday's game, but he probably could have played if the Magic were not such a deep team with competent backups. Carter was injured Friday and spent Saturday and early Sunday getting treatment. He warmed up Sunday before the game. Only his lateral movement looked a little off. "This thing (a laser-like device that he was using for treatment) is incredible," he said. "It feels good walking on it, and I hate missing games."
--C Dwight Howard gave the Magic a scare when he left the game clutching his right shoulder after colliding with former Magic player Hedo Turkoglu. Howard went to the locker room to be examined, but he felt good enough to start and play the second half, finishing with 24 points and 10 rebounds. His shoulder was just bruised.
MEDICAL WATCH:
--G Vince Carter (sprained left ankle) is questionable for Tuesday's game in Detroit after missing Sunday's game in Toronto.
--C Adonal Foyle (right knee) had surgery midway in the preseason but is expected to be ready in another three weeks.
--F Mickael Pietrus (flu) was sent home to recuperate.
