--G Vince Carter returned to the starting lineup Wednesday after four games on the sideline with a sprained ankle and another as a reserve. Carter led the Magic in scoring with 29 points, but he failed to provide the kind of big game leadership the Magic needed Wednesday.

--C Marcin Gortat led the Magic in rebounding Wednesday with eight. It was the second time this season he has led the team in rebounding. Much of it was due to early foul trouble by Dwight Howard, who had only seven rebounds in 32 minutes.

--F Rashard Lewis is coming to the end of his NBA suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy late last season. Lewis has to serve one more game -- Friday against New Jersey -- before he can return next week. He has been watching home games from his home, and road games from the team hotel.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--F Ryan Anderson (sprained right ankle) was hurt Friday in the third quarter and he is not expected back until next week.

--G Vince Carter (sprained left ankle) returned Tuesday after missing the previous four games.
