ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Jason Williams, Shooting guard Vince Carter, Small forward Mickael Pietrus, Power forward Rashard Lewis, center Dwight Howard. Bench -- G J.J. Redick, G Anthony Johnson, F Ryan Anderson, C Marcin Gortat, F Matt Barnes. PLAYER NOTES: --G Jason Williams really looked bothered by the back-to-back set after playing 39 minutes on the first night. He followed his best game of the season -- 25 points and eight assists -- on Wednesday with an awful game (no points and three missed shots) on Thursday.
--F Rashard Lewis might be coming out of his 3-point shooting slump. He made 2 of 5 Thursday after coming into the game having made only 5 of 29 (17.2 percent) in his five games. He missed the first 10 games of the season because of an NBA suspension.
--G Anthony Johnson easily had his best game of the season Thursday night, and it was much needed by the Magic. Johnson had 17 points, including 15 in the second half when starter Jason Williams struggled badly at point guard. Johnson had started the season anchored to the bench as the third-team point guard, but he was called into backup duty when Jameer Nelson went out with a knee injury and Williams was elevated to the starting role. Johnson's previous best game was nine points against Oklahoma City a week before.
MEDICAL WATCH:
--G Jameer Nelson (left knee) had surgery to repair some torn cartilage and is expected to be out until late December.
--C Adonal Foyle (right knee) had surgery midway in October and has been working out. He should be available early in December.
