ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Jason Williams, Shooting guard Vince Carter, Small forward Mickael Pietrus, Power forward Rashard Lewis, center Dwight Howard. Bench -- G J.J. Redick, G Anthony Johnson, F Ryan Anderson, C Marcin Gortat, F Matt Barnes. PLAYER NOTES: --C Dwight Howard, a two-time rebounding champ, finally has taken his place atop the rebounding leaders this season. After a slow start, he waited until Sunday to take the lead this season. He has had 16, 17, 20 and 16 rebounds the last four games. He is now averaging 12.5 rebounds.
--F Matt Barnes officially filed an appeal to the league office, hoping to have his $20,000 fine reduced for throwing the basketball into the stands following a disappointing loss at home to Miami. He met Sunday in New York with Bill Hunter, executive director of the Players Association, before the Magic played the Knicks.
--F Rashard Lewis not only had a season-high 26 points Sunday in New York, but he snapped his 3-point shooting slump by hitting five of nine, which was a great sign for the Magic. Since returning from his 10-game suspension to start the season, Lewis had not shot the ball well from long range, complaining about tired legs. It's not the case any more.
