ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Jason Williams, Shooting guard Vince Carter, Small forward Mickael Pietrus, Power forward Rashard Lewis, Center Dwight Howard. Bench -- Guard J.J. Redick, Guard Anthony Johnson, Forward Ryan Anderson, Center Marcin Gortat, Forward Matt Barnes. PLAYER NOTES: --F Rashard Lewis never has been known as a defensive player, but ever since he returned from that season-opening 10-game suspension, the Magic have played better defensively. "He's a very good help-side defender," coach Stan Van Gundy said. "He knows how to play defensively, and he's been a big help."
--G Jason Williams bruised his left elbow late in the first half against Golden State, but he returned to finish the game. He did not play particularly well after he was hurt, allowing Anthony Johnson to get more playing time as the backup.
--C Marcin Gortat, playing behind All-Star Dwight Howard, has been complaining about not getting enough minutes. He got significant playing time Saturday, but only because Howard was in foul trouble. In his four previous games, Gortat played only six, seven, eight and seven minutes.
MEDICAL WATCH:
--G Jameer Nelson (left knee) had surgery to repair torn cartilage, and he is expected to be out until late December.
--C Adonal Foyle (right knee) had surgery in mid-October, and he has been working out. He started traveling with team again, and he should be available soon.
