Orlando Magic Roster Report 2009-02-08

Orlando Magic Roster Report 2009-02-08
ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Anthony Johnson, Shooting guard Mickael Pietrus, Small forward Hedo Turkoglu, Power forward Rashard Lewis, Center Dwight Howard. Bench -- Guard Courtney Lee, Center Tony Battie, Guard J.J. Redick, Forward Brian Cook.

PLAYER NOTES:

--C Dwight Howard, with 21 points and 20 rebounds, recorded the fifth 20-20 game this season, which is tops in the NBA. Howard, now in his fifth NBA season, has 19 games in his career in which he had at least 20 points and 20 rebounds.

--G J.J. Redick has gotten another opportunity to play regular minutes with the absence of G Jameer Nelson, and he is taking advantage of it. With Nelson out, Courtney Lee has become the backup point guard, which means there is room for Redick to play shooting guard again. He responded Friday night by matching his career high of 17 points when he hit 3-of-5 three-pointers.

--C Tony Battie made his first three-pointer of the season Friday night just before the first quarter ended. Battie now has made seven three-pointers in his 12 NBA seasons.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Jameer Nelson dislocated his right shoulder in the third period of Monday's game against Dallas. He is expected to miss the rest of the season and he is likely to have surgery soon to repair the problem.

--G Mike Wilks (torn ACL) is out for the season, recovering from surgery on his right knee. Wilks had to wait almost a month after the injury to have surgery because of the swelling.
