PLAYER NOTES: --C Dwight Howard fouled out for the fourth time in this postseason, most in the NBA. He also has a league-high 77 personal fouls in 17 games.
--G Rafer Alston certainly lived up to his reputation for being an inconsistent shooter, one of the knocks against him throughout his career. In Orlando's Game 4 victory, he had 26 points and hit 10 of 17 shots. In Thurday's Game 5 loss, he made just 1 of 10 shots.
--F Mickael Pietrus, still in a reserve role, continues to be the biggest Magic surprise of the playoffs. In the last three playoff games, he has scored 46 points and has provided a major spark.
MEDICAL WATCH:
--G Jameer Nelson (torn right labrum) is out for the season after surgery, but he has been shooting before games on his own and talking about returning. General manager Otis Smith said he must wait until next season.
