Magic rookie G Courtney Lee experienced another NBA first Tuesday night against the Wizards: his first career start. Lee was inserted into the lineup in place of Keith Bogans, who has been experiencing issues with his right foot since spraining his ankle against Chicago Dec. 31. Bogans played in the Magic's loss to Toronto on Sunday, but was having trouble putting pressure on it Tuesday. He was inactive for the game.
Magic General Manager Otis Smith does have some empathy for what the Washington Wizards are going through with G Gilbert Arenas this season. Having experienced a former Magic player in Grant Hill miss a multitude of games after having multiple surgeries on his left ankle, Smith definitely can relate. "He's hurt, but you want him back and you know the player he was and you know the player he's capable of being," Smith said. "But you want him to be the player folks are used to seeing."
