Under the Bleachers: The forgotten centers
Welcome to Under the Bleachers, where the best NBA writers from Bleacher Report give their unique take on the latest action.

Unsung Heroes: the Big Man

Not all centers can be Shaq and Dwight Howard. Guys like Vlade "Dadie" Divac, Rick "The Flying Dutchman" Smits, and Dikembe "Wag My Finger in Your Face and Guess How Old I Am" Mutombo don't get the props they deserve. Well, now they do.

No Average Joe

The Cavs have LeBron, but what they really needed was a cup of Joe. Smith may never live up to being a No. 1 draft pick, but he offers a solid low-post presence, a solid defender and a solid rebounder. What's the one word that describes him? We forget.

Blake Griffin: Boom or Bust?

Big Red will probably go number one in the draft, but how will he pan out? Too short for a big man, too limited for a forward, it's anyone's guess. One thing's for sure, he'll fare a lot better than his brother. Sorry, Taylor -- you can always carry his bags.

The Big Picture

You want to know something about the NBA? This article has it. From the league in the new economy to the rookie hazing controversy; it's all found here.

And the Winner Is...

What you've all been waiting for: Kobe, Bron-Bron, and D-Wade battle head-to-head in the circle of death for the honor of 2008-09 MVP. Who shall prevail? Black Mamba, King Freak of Nature James or the best sixth man to ever play in the Olympics? Read and find out. Kumite! Kumite!
